Simple Past Tense / Fill in the blanks

Simple Past Tense / Fill in the blanks There is a boy who has lost his dog. He hires a detective to find his dog. There are different scenes and in each scene the dog runs after a cat and they leave the scene. After they leave, the detective gets into the scene and inspects people about what they have seen. And the people explain the detective what they have seen by using the simple past tense. As they speak you will see that there are blanks in the speech bubbles of people. The words which will fill the blanks are also given. Just click and see the words going to the blanks. I use it as a pre and also post-activity. İ. Gürkan BOZKURT

This work is prepared mainly for the grammar points; Comperatives, Superlatives, The same as, As......as and Different from. Also there are some questions on describing personality, simple future and so on. In fact this is the exam paper which I prepared for the first term second written exam. After the exam I project it in the class for the students to see their errors. I also take notes from the responds of the students to have the common errors. With this I can understand the ins and outs of the kids, where they generally make mistakes or what I failed in teaching them. İ. Gürkan BOZKURT

7th Grade / Unit 4 / Comparision

I use this material to show the grammatical rules of comperatives. With this I can show the three rules (-er, more, irregular adjectives). At first, the rules are presented. Then for each rule you can see an animated sceene. After the explanations the multiple choice section is given for the students to answer. In test section again, animated gifs are used. I hope it will be useful for your lectures. İ. Gürkan BOZKURT.

7th Grade/Unit 3/Making Suggestions.

................ ............... ............ ........... With this teaching material you can show your students how to use advice expressions. As I was preparing the video, I tried to emphasise the communicative usage of the target grammar point. To do that I created real life scenes that the students always face in their family or among their friends. I hope it will be useful for your lectures. İ. Gürkan BOZKURT.

7th Grade / UNIT 1

In this work students are to make simple future predictions and talk about personalities. Horoscopes/sun signs are a good way to talk about future freely. As for the vocabulary, the names of the horoscopes are given by a matching exercise of famous people around the world and Turkey. Also there is a flashback question and answer section that enables us to have our students to connect their earlier studies with the new ones. İ. Gurkan BOZKURT.

If clause-Type 2

First click on the start button and then click (anywhere on the slide) one by one to see the sentences.
This work is prepared to show how type 2 is used in real life. This can be used as a post activity after presenting the grammar point. Or anyhow as you wish. With this video students can see why we use type-2 and for what. Let the students think about the sceenes each characters experience. For example, the first characters; a man in a tree, he's triying to chop the branch he is standing on. A boy who is coming from fishing sees the man and says "If I were you, I wouldn't do this". So here there is an unreal situation in the boy's sentence. In fact he is not the man on the branch. So have the students think about this and ask them "Is what the boy says real or unreal." After watching the video, encourage the students make their own sentences. "What was the time when they said "if I were somebody else" and what was the situation. At the end of the video, again students will be asked; "What would you do if you had a magic wand?" İ. Gürkan BOZKURT

Was/Were- Find the difference

Click one by one and discover the difference between Past and Present forms of to be
Sometimes, it is hard to talk about the past and visualise it for the young students. It stands like something abstact. That is why we learn and understand past tense when we grow up and become a teenager. For these reasons I planned to make it something tangible and you can still see even if it is gone. So I made this material. Here the kids can see both the past and present. Also I tried to add some feelings (the little boy is happy at first but then he is very sad). This really affects the human being, our students(further, I 'm going to talk about it). When I reflect it on the wall I want my students to talk about the present picture. Where are the animals, what are there in the picture, etc. I have them use simple present. But then I want them to look at the second picture which tells us something about the past. This time I have them use the target grammar point, simple past. Afer the slide, I want them to remember the past. If there anything changed or still the same. Is there any changes about their emotions like the little boy in the picture? Tell me... And write 10 things about yesterday or last week. 5 things that changed and 5 things still the same... İ. as......as / the same as / different from - English animated video

This video is prepared by me to show how we use "as......as/the same as/different from" in real life. You can use it as a pre, while or post activity according to your needs. In the video there is a father and a boy who has a project work about the similarities and differences in our environment. They have a video camera and record around. When they see something similar or different they make sentences. İ. Gürkan BOZKURT

Wh- Question Words / find the right option

This grammar point has always been underestimated. Or as far as I have inferred from the students. Because they can understand it, however when it is time to make sentences they failure. To show them the grammar point in real life and to emphasise asking the question, I prepared this slide. In the slides I prepard real life scenes, as I have always done, and wanted the students to find the right question or vice versa. Also I tried add some animations to make it more interesting. I use this to foster my students speaking abilities. İ. Gürkan BOZKURT

if clause / type 1

This activity can be given as pre, while or post activity to present conditionals type1. To connect the grammar point with the students' lives, I tried to involve their real problems into the video... Hakan is studying and his family gives him motivations by using "if clause/type 1. But the members of the family say different things to him. And Hakan feels quite confused. At the end I ask the students if they live something similar with Hakan's. Then I ask a question; "What are the ifs that you always hear your family." İ. Gürkan BOZKURT

Used to / Childhood Memories

This is the first video that I am sharing on my blog. I contributed this video on eslprintables.com and my colloques loved and wrote great comments... Moreover, this video made some of them sentimental... That time I decided to make my own blog and to share it with the world. In this video, I tried to show my students how we use "used to"... An old man is sitting on a bench. Today is his birthday and he celebrates it with the birds by telling them the oldest but the goldest days of his childhood. Here the most important thing is that whenever he talks about his memories, we see the visualisation of the scene and really see the purpose of "used to". I hope you like it. İ. Gürkan BOZKURT
